TREE SAN DIEGO IN ACTION

Tree San Diego collaborates with local and state government agencies, nonprofits, community organizations, and businesses to plant the right trees in the right places with the right care. We are committed to San Diego County’s urban forest for the benefit of people, the environment, and the future. Our dedicated team is working to increase the quality and density of San Diego's urban forest through tree planting, tree care, reforestation planning, wood reutilization, community education, and reforestation and carbon offset prospectus review.

GROWING The URBAN FOREST

SD Regional Plan & Plant Project

A paid workforce training program that supports the planting of urban trees, and develops the region's first regional urban forestry master plan.

Treejectory+

A paid education and workforce development program serving underserved and low-income communities through urban forestry- focused training, and job placement.

Tree Treks

Guided tree walks hosted by TSD arborists throughout San Diego County.

Citywide Tree Planting

Ongoing tree-planting activities to develop, enhance, maintain, and monitor trees throughout San Diego's incorporated cities and unincorporated areas.

Branch Out San Diego

A private residential land planting project consisting of 1,575 trees, paired with an educational tree care program of tribal and in-need communities.

Tree Steward Training

Tree San Diego's Tree Stewards Program is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the benefits and care of trees and how to help educate their local community about our urban forest.

Trejuvenation

Diverting end-of-life urban trees away from wood chippers or landfills and toward beneficial products like lumber, furniture, musical instruments, and biochar.

Smart Roots

A scalable outreach program that brings urban forestry education and climate change awareness to disadvantaged communities in San Diego County.

Terrific Trees Project

An ongoing program that teaches the many ways trees can improve human and environmental health.
